In this essay for Applied Research Center's Compact for Racial Justice, Van Jones writes on the importance of green jobs to the racial justice movement, in terms of environmental impact and economic impact. Van Jones is founder of both Green For All and the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, and was recently tapped by President Obama to serve as the Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality.
