Samantha E. Erskine
Samantha ErskineSamantha E. Erskine is the Development Associate for the Applied Research Center. She received a Master's of Arts in Women's History in May 2007 from Sarah Lawrence College. The title of her Master's thesis is Slavery's Echo in the Lives of Black Erotic Laborers: Racism, Stigma, and the Politics of Respectability. In addition, Samantha received two Bachelor of Arts degrees, in Psychology and in Women's Studies, from the University of Maryland.

Prior to ARC, Samantha worked at Legal Momentum and at the National Latina Institute for Reproductive Health.  She has been active in the womanist community for thirteen years and has worked at civil rights organizations, domestic violence clinics, reproductive rights organizations, an HIV/AIDS clinic, a homeless shelter for women, and with pregnant and parenting teenagers.

In addition to her scholar-activism, Samantha also danced professionally for six years, teaching and performing nationally and internationally, and she was a freelance web designer and graphic designer for five years.
