Research

The Research program initiates ground-breaking studies that identify solutions to our most persistent social and political problems.

From education and health care to criminal justice and immigration, race-based disparities continue to determine the life chances of individuals and communities. Documenting these gaps and identifying creative solutions that prioritize racial equity is a critical function of the Research program. The program brings together the nation’s foremost scholars to close the information gap on issues of racial justice.

The Research program produces:

  • Reports that analyze original data and provide a cutting-edge analysis of racial disparities in public policy and popular culture.

  • Model Policies documenting policy solutions that have been effective in reducing or eliminating racial disparities across the country.

  • Interactive Tools that take advantage of digital video and audio to share the Research department’s information and analysis with a broad range of actors.
