Melinda brings experience in the fields of law, consulting and urban ministry to her work at the Applied Research Center. As Managing Director, she leads its bi-coastal senior management team, directs day-to-day operations and supervises the progress of the organization’s various departmental initiatives spanning the fields of research, on-line journalism and racial equity training and consulting. Melinda is a sought after strategist, facilitator, coach, preacher and scholar. She has presented, published and produced events on topics such as collaborative social change, racial equity in the arts, black sacred music and leadership development. She serves on the ministerial staff of the Greater Allen Cathedral of New York and has served previously at the Bethel AME Church, in Boston, as its Minister of Worship and Arts. With the women-led humanitarian action group My Sister’s Keeper, Melinda helped support girls education projects in southern Sudan. Melinda resides in her native New York City, and holds degrees from Wesleyan University, New York University and Harvard University.
