Colorlines wins Ippies Awards for excellence in ethnic and community journalism

 Colorlines Magazine has won two Ippies, which are the only journalism awards in New York to honor reporting by ethnic and community press.


Awarded through the New York Community Media Alliance, the Ippies are considered a benchmark of journalistic excellence, and they highlight exemplary coverage of issues affecting people of color and immigrant communities.

Colorlines Magazine submitted multiple entries in categories including Best Multimedia, Best Editorial/Commentary, Best Feature, Best Coverage on Immigration and Social Justice Issues, and Best Coverage on Education.

Seth’s Wessler’s piece, Silenced in The Classroom, won first place for Best Investigative and In-Depth Story, and Kai Wright’s piece, A Fragile Union , won third place for Best Feature.
