For ACORN, Controversy Now a Matter of Survival

acorn.jpgUSA Today published an article about the recent controversy around ACORN. They spoke with ARC's executive director Rinku Sen and former director Gary Delgado to get their thoughts on the issue.

Here is an excerpt:

If ACORN's work ends, says Rinku Sen, executive director of the Applied Research Center, a racial justice think tank, "there are lots of targets of ACORN campaigns around the country that would be ecstatic not to have the organization bothering them."

Delgado says rethinking ACORN's structure is essential — but so is its work. "They play a critical role in holding the line for the voiceless," he says.
