Be one of the 1000 participants looking to define justice and make change. Come to Facing Race 2010!
Building on the success and excitement generated by racial justice activists from across the country, Facing Race 2010 guarantees lively discussions on today's hot-button race issues while offering models for real change. Taking place September 23-25, 2010 at the McCormick Hyatt Regency in Chicago, IL, Facing Race serves as a focal point for organizations and individuals committed to crafting innovative strategies and successful models for changing policy and shaping culture to advance racial justice. With Melissa Harris-Lacewell as our 2010 keynote speaker, this is one event you don't want to miss.
The conference includes a series of plenary sessions, an array of workshop topics, a film series, and an arts and culture component. Three thematic tracks will guide issue and skill building workshops including racial justice policy change, strategic communication and media, and community organizing.
GOT WORKSHOP IDEAS? SEND IN YOUR PROPOSAL!
Deadline: March 15, 2010
ARC is inviting submissions for workshop
proposals for the 2010 Facing Race conference. Approximately 30 workshops will be selected and featured at Facing Race
2010. Due to the limited number of workshops and growing interest and
attendance, we expect the workshop selection process to be very
competitive. We encourage early submission of workshop proposals to
give us amply time to review them.

Here are what folks are saying about Facing Race:
- "ARC has the best frame in the
country for facing race in the U.S. and is probably the best at teaching
activists and advocates how to use that frame to create racial justice."
- "This is the only conference
I've ever attended that kept me engaged and inspired from beginning to end."
