Senior Research Associate
The Applied Research Center (ARC) is a 30-year old non-profit, national racial justice organization whose mission is to build awareness, solutions and leadership for racial justice by generating transformative ideas, information and experiences. By telling the stories of everyday people, ARC is a voice for unity and fairness in the structures that affect our lives. Media – as publisher of Colorlines.com, a daily news site where race matters
Research – as producer of such recent racial justice reports as Good Food and Good Jobs for AllShattered Families; Better Together; and Don't Call Them Post-Racial
Leadership Development – as organizational consultants and trainers, host of Racial Justice Skill-Building Webinars, and conveners of the bi-annual Facing Race National Conference
 
The ARC Senior Research Associate will work closely with the Research Director and Research Associate(s) to develop contemporary racial justice theory, reveal and explore current racial disparities, highlight solutions to racial inequity, and outreach to grassroots and academic communities. The position requires monthly travel and will be based in ARC’s Oakland, CA office, or remotely in the Southern United States.

We are looking for a Director of Web Development and Strategy with experience building content driven websites that engage users to interact with the online community. The perfect candidate will also bring a passion for online engagement, advocacy, and a cutting edge knowledge of digital technology. The Director of Web Development and Strategy will have primary responsibility over web development, long term planning of online operations, and execution of all online programs which include the Applied Research Center (Arc.org) and Colorlines (Colorlines.com) web sites, email campaigns, social media, and webinars. The Director of Web Development and Strategy will be a member of the senior leadership team and will work closely with staff across the organization to match technology with program needs. This person is also responsible for contributing to the development of a business model that expands revenue opportunities and creates a marketing-to-sales pipeline. S/he will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible managing growing but small team, interdepartmental teams, procuring vendors and managing the on-line engagement aspects of special projects and programs that further our organizational Mission and Vision.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on experience. In addition, we offer an excellent benefits package including health and dental insurance, flexible spending account, retirement plan, transportation stipend, vacations, and a sabbatical.
